CloudLinux Resource Limits for Resellers
As a reseller hosting customer with CloudLinux Manager access, you have the ability to manage and adjust resource allocations (CPU, RAM, I/O, IOPS, Entry Processes, and Number of Processes) for your hosting packages and individual users. However, not all reseller packages have access to CloudLinux Manager. Here’s a breakdown of your options and the limits for each package.
CloudLinux Resource Breakdown
Each resource type plays a crucial role in the performance and usage of your hosting package. Here’s an explanation of each:
CPU (CPU Usage)
This represents the percentage of CPU resources allocated to the package or user.
-
Example: 100% CPU means 1 core of CPU is allocated to the user.
-
If the limit is exceeded, throttling or suspension may occur.
PMEM (Physical Memory)
The amount of RAM allocated to the user’s account.
-
Example: 4GB PMEM means the user has 4GB of memory available to them.
I/O (Input/Output Throughput)
This refers to the speed of file read/write operations.
-
Example: 1MB/s I/O translates to 10 Mbps of dedicated internet speed for file transfer.
IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second)
The number of read/write operations a user can perform per second.
-
Example: 512 IOPS allows 512 operations per second.
EP (Entry Processes)
This is the number of simultaneous requests a user can handle.
-
More EP means more processes can run concurrently.
NPROC (Number of Processes)
This represents the number of active processes a user can run simultaneously.
-
Example: 50 NPROC allows 50 active processes at once.

Important Notes
-
Inodes: All reseller packages, including Reseller Hosting: Starter, come with unlimited inodes by default.
-
Resource Limits: Ensure that your resource settings do not exceed the maximum limits. If you try to allocate more resources than allowed, you will receive a warning.
-
Red Warnings in CloudLinux Manager: If you see red warnings when editing a user’s resource settings (e.g., increasing RAM usage beyond the package limit), don’t worry. These are just visual indicators. As long as the package is within the allocated resources, it will function normally.
